The Denise M. Trauth Endowed Scholarship was established to be a tribute to Dr. Trauth’s legacy, a powerful engine of change for students, and a way for alumni and friends to bid farewell and best wishes to a leader who helped make TXST a better place for generations of Bobcats.

The funds are critical in bringing the Texas State experience within reach for many deserving students. The funds will support high achieving incoming freshmen or continuing undergraduate students. The scholarship will also be open to all majors.

Thank you to everyone who generously donated to the Denise M. Trauth Endowed Scholarship.

President Trauth's Legacy

In the twenty years that Dr. Trauth served as President of the University, she brought Texas State to the forefront in many areas. Under her leadership, the university was designated a Texas Emerging Research University; has been reclassified as an “R2: Doctoral University – Higher Research Activity” under the Carnegie Classification system; became a federal Hispanic-Serving Institution; moved to the FBS subdivision of NCAA Division I; has experienced its largest construction program since being founded in 1899. The university has also greatly expanded its external funding of research and philanthropic giving.
