Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarships Support Bobcat Students

Houston Livestock Show + Rodeo
Delegates from the Houston Rodeo visited campus this week to meet President Damphousse, tour the Department of Agriculture, and connect with their student scholarship recipients.

Thank you to TXST Heroes, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for partnering with Texas State University for over 40 years to support Bobcats! Your commitment has established two endowments supporting 1,156 TXST undergraduate scholarships and 60 graduate assistantships. Around $4M in total scholarship funds have been awarded to dedicated students in the TXST Department of Agriculture through the Houston Livestock Agriculture Endowment in 1988 and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship in 1991. The Houston Rodeo’s generosity and leadership are helping drive what‘s NEXT for Bobcats to embrace western heritage and achieve their dreams in the agricultural industry.

Bobcats are the present and future face of Texas

They may come from vastly different places, but like Texans, they have a lot in common. They’re driven, they’re hopeful and authentically, unapologetically, themselves. They know the world won’t fix itself. They’re preparing to do it themselves.
We exist to help them.

Student Success

We attract hard-working, curious and creative, daring, and determined students to Texas State. Our students work a lot, both in their studies and to make their studies possible. Everything they have, they have earned. And our students are grateful for your support.

Enrichment Programs

Experience Counts

We know experiences outside the classroom are crucial to preparing our students for the world beyond college. Whether that’s working on a faculty-mentored project, securing an internship, studying abroad, or finding a group of Bobcats who get just as psyched about everything from keeping the river clean to building a business, we want “hands-on” to always be a part of the Bobcat experience.
