For Julie Fisher, giving back to Texas State as a President’s Associate member is rooted in a belief that education has the power to change lives. Julie’s commitment to leadership giving stems from a deep trust in the university’s vision, especially in President Damphousse’s ability to direct resources where they will have the greatest impact.

Julie’s passion for supporting students was shaped in the years that followed her time on campus. As a former board member of Breakthrough Central Texas, she witnessed firsthand the profound impact that wraparound support and educational access can have on first-generation students. Seeing so many Breakthrough scholars be served by Texas State, and knowing the university’s strong programs for first-generation success, solidified her desire to invest in both missions.

For Julie, leadership giving is about removing barriers and helping students fully experience college without the weight of financial strain. “I hope that my giving allows students to focus on their whole student experience,” she said. “My goal is that with our combined impact, we will be able to eliminate barriers and provide resources for students to excel.”

When asked why others should consider joining President’s Associates, her answer is simple: collective impact. “This is a great opportunity to streamline giving that will make a positive collective impact across the student population.”
